TODAY IN SPORTS HISTORY: DEATH OF SPORT PERSON


 Oskana  Kostina a Russian gymnast died in a car crash on 11 February 1993 in Moscow, a few weeks to  her 21st birthday. She died in an auto accident while been driven by her fiance Eduard Zenovka an Olympic Bronze Medalist in Barcelona. A lorry advancing from the opposite direction crashed head-on into their vehicle. Both athletes sustained serious injury and were rushed to the hospital because they needed surgery. Sixteen hours later, Kostina was confirmed to have died from injuries sustained at the car crash. The police investigation revealed that Zenovka, who was driving the car, was heavily intoxicated at the time of the accident. May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.
