Despite recording his first hat-trick for club in the month of January, Super Eagles whiz-kid Kelechi Iheanacho lost the Etihad player of the month award for January to Sergio Aguero.
Aguero polled 50% of the total votes cast, to defeat Kelechi Iheanacho and Bacary Sagna who finished second and third respectively.
Aguero scored seven goals in all competitions and provided one assist, while Iheanacho scored four goals and provided three assists for City in the month of January. His hat-trick against Aston Villa gave him an upper hand, but he was unable to beat the Argentine forward.
Iheanacho will feature for City when they face Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, while Tottenham is second on the table with 48 points, Manchester City are in fourth position with 47 points. A win is key for City in Sunday clash as Iheanacho could use that opportunity to make the difference for the month of February.
