Photo:Getty Images

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has made it clear that the team must travel to Anfield and face Liverpool with the aim of reaching forty points so as to keep Leicester on top.

Teams in the English Premier League will resume with their matches on December 26, with LVG's side going away to get a must win match against Stoke City.

While the Christmas day-off may interest a lot of Coaches, Gaal will be more concerned about winning the match away, knowing full well that his side will be the first to play on boxing day.

Manchester United have played six consecutive matches without a win and this is of great concern to the Dutch tactician who face a risk of being sacked if they fail to win.

Shocking: Messi Has Won More Titles Than Chelsea

It is quite shocking to note that Barcelona Super star Lionel Messi, who is 28 years old has so far won 26 titles, while Chelsea club which is 110 years old has won 25 titles.

Why Chelsea May Not Get Pep Guardiola.

Photo:www.red pepper.co.ug

The search for a long-term replacement of José Mourinho continues while Guus Hiddinks standing in as interim manager of the club.

Pep Guardiola has been linked to Chelsea, but with the situation of things on ground and going by the antecedent of both parties, it may be difficult to have the Spanish at Stamford Bridge.

Since 2003 till date, Chelsea have fired ten managers with Mourinho getting a bitter share of the Sack on two occasions. This pedigree is naturally enough for any big coach to feel sceptical about coming to Stamford Bridge.

Pep, who is also being considered has had seven years of coaching experience in Spain and Bayern of which he made a choice to leave in all situations. In Barcelona for example he had one year contract which was renewed at the end of each season, while in Bayern he signed two years renewed it for one year and made a decision to leave next summer.

Pep's style of play, may not fit into Chelsea traditional style of play, as he plays the 4-3-3 and 3-4-3 style of play, which allows more of players who can hold on to the ball. Pep once said that Chelsea need ten more players for the team to be stable, and this alone suggests otherwise.

Pep is more likely to settle for Manchester City if given the opportunity, as this is a club that he may quickly adopt to, considering the quality of players that are available there.

Mourinho Close To Getting Manchester United Job

Photo:www.express.co.uk

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is close to joining United as the current performance of Manchester United is of great concern to management.

Norwich City beat United recently 1-2 at Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson has been told by management to intervene and look into the matter.

Manchester United have gone six matches without a win under Louis Van Gaal and this is really affecting the team's position on the table, after which United also failed to qualify to the knockout stage of Champions League under LVG.

Mourinho is currently out of job and will be willing to be part of United's success story if considered.

Arsenal Beat Manchester City To Maintain Second Position On Table.

Photo:www.mirror.uk

Arsenal beat Manchester City 2-1 at Emirate Stadium to maintain their second position at the table, with four points clear Manchester City, while they reduce the gap between them and Leicester City with two points.

Arsene Wenger men did the scoring in the first half with Walcott opening the scoreline with an outside eighteen shot in the 33 minutes, before Giroud's second goal came in the injury time before half time.

A win over Manchester City puts Arsenal in the right mood to go on away match against Southampton on the 26.

Arsenal were organised in their play, despite the fact that Yaya Toure's 82 minutes goal seem to have given City a ray of hope, but tactical discipline and team spirit kept Wenger's men till the last blast of whistle.

Photo: www.standard.co.UK

Banned FIFA President Sepp Blatter has said he is going to Fight his eight years ban from football related activities. Blatter who held a press briefing in his his hometown after news of the ban, described himself as a punching ball.

Blatter said he was ashamed of the ethics committee who failed to follow due process, and at such, has told his Swiss Lawyer to challenge the ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sports.

"I still remain the FIFA President and it is only a congress that can remove the President and not the ethics committee" he said. What I did was not illegal the Swiss law recognises Oral contract and that is it.

Blatter also noted that he was not treated with respect as it was over the media he heard of his ban and its quite unfortunate that despite all what he has put in for football, he is still being treated with disrespect.

Breaking News: Sepp Blatter and Mitchell Platini Banned For 8 Years

Photo:www.theguardian.com

Former FIFA President Sepp Blatter and UEFA President Mitchell Platini have been banned for eight years in all football related issues. The decision was made by the FIFA ethics committee.

Chairman of the ethics committee German Judge Hans- Joachim Eckert gave the rulings. The committee found Blatter guilty of paying 2m Swiss francs to Platini in 2011 without any formal written document
showing that the transaction took place.

In addition, Blatter was fined the sum of 50,000 Swiss francs or £34,000 while Platini was fined the sum of 80,000 Swiss francs or £54,000.

Blatter and Platini however claimed that the transaction was legal, because Swiss law legalizes verbal contract and at such pleaded not guilty. But the ethics committee observed that though Swiss law allows verbal contract, the transaction did not appear in FIFA's account.

Platini who is considered as the heir to the throne, would miss the European Championship in which he ordinarily would have been there as UEFA President. His long-term dream of becoming FIFA'S President has been shattered.

Chelsea Defeat Of Sunderland Not A Proof Of Return To Glory.

Photo: 101greatgoals.com

Chelsea began their post-Mourinho era with a 3-1defeat of Sunderland at Stamford Bridge, crawling to the fifteenth position on the EPL table. Goals from Ivanovich, Pedro and Oscar made the three goals while Sunderland's only goal came from Borini in the 53rd minutes.

Chelsea's performance since the begin of this season has been winning one match in a month, hence the defeat of Sunderland could be adjudged to be their win for the month unless they defeat Watford and Manchester United on the 26 and 28 of December respectively.

There is need for the team to really prove to fans and critics, that José Mourinho was actually the major problem the team has by winning these matches.
