Van Gaal Is Next To Be Sacked!

Photo:theguardian.com

It seems the wind of sack of underperforming managers has taken the air in England, as fans call for the Sack of Manchester United manager Van Gaal.

Manchester United have gone five matches without a win, and recent loss to Norwich City by 1-2 at Old Trafford has made things worse for the manager. United are currently fifth on the table with 29 points.

A recent online poll conducted by goal, suggests that Van Gaal is close to being sacked. 86% of those who participated in the poll supports the Sack of Van Gaal with 13,145 votes, while 14% voted against with 2,067 votes.

All eyes seem to be going to former Chelsea boss José Mourinho, who is currently out of job and has stated his intention to return to coaching soon.

Mourinho's Unguarded Utterances Against His Colleagues Got Him Into Trouble.

Photo: skysports.com

"At almost 70 years of age has won Super Cup and another small Cup. He is too old to change his mentality." --José Mourinho 2008

The above quote from Mourinho was what he said about Claudio Ranieri in 2008. Ranieri has today turned Leicester City into the strongest team in the English Premier League, the man whose team's defeat of Chelsea led to Mourinho's sack. On the contrary, Ranieri was 56 years when Mourinho made this comment.

The Copa Italia and Copa De Rey which Mourinho referred to small then happens to be amongst the 22 silverware which Mourinho had won in all of his career. Mourinho's record of silverware would be incomplete without including the above titles which he won in Italy and Spain.

Interestingly,Ranieri was sacked in 2004 by Chelsea and was replaced by Mourinho. Today, Ranieri's team defeated Mourinho, which eventually led to Mourinho's sack and that shows what life is all about.

The three managers whom Mourinho had always described as unsuccessful(Claudio Ranieri, Arsene Wenger and Manuel Pellegrini), were amongst the top four teams as at when Mourinho was sacked. Mourinho dragged Chelsea to sixteenth position before his Sack.

Chelsea To Play Sunderland Without Mourinho, Will The Players Prove A Point?

Photo: www.mirror.co.UK

Chelsea will play her first league match after the Sack of former manager José Mourinho.

Technical Director of the club Mike Emenalo did say that there was discord between players and former manager hence manager was made to go.

Fans of Chelsea are not happy about the Sack of Mourinho, but today's match against Sunderland will prove a lot of things. The players will need to win convincly, irrespective of who stands in as coach, while a draw or loss to Sunderland could cause an uproar among fans.

Fans of Chelsea stood by Mourinho in his moments of trial, and will probably watch today's match with mixed- feelings, hoping to have an opportunity to make a clarion call for the Special One.

Chelsea Wants Guardiola Dead Or Alive!

Photo: uefa.com

Chelsea sacked former manager José Mourinho, while efforts is being made to get Hiddinks as interim manager of the club.

However, Abramhovic has indicated interest that he wants Pep Guardiola at Stamford Bridge on permanent grounds. In 2013 after Chelsea won Champions League, efforts were made to bring Pep to Chelsea, but he settled for Bayern.

Top-class managers are being careful about taking up coaching jobs in Chelsea, as club's hire and fire policy is not a favourable one. Chelsea have sacked ten managers since 2003 and no other manager is planning to be the eleventh.

Guardiola has however insisted that Chelsea need ten more players as it is obvious that the present crop of players in Chelsea may not fit into his style of play.

How Much Will Chelsea Pay Mourinho For Sacking Him?

Photo:moroccoworldnews.com

José Mourinho's Sack is no news, but what is the issue now is what financial benefit he stands to get since his contract runs till 2019.

Mourinho's take home after Sack is a controversial and technical issue. First, if it is proved by the club that Mourinho was sacked for 'poor performance',then Mourinho may get a maximum of one season's salary approximately £7.5million.

However,if that is not the case, then he will be paid the total value of the time remaining on his contract till summer of 2019 which is valued at about £30million and provided he has not suffered any loss.

On the contrary, if Mourinho joins another club after his Sack and earns same salary as he was earning in Chelsea, he will not be paid anything provided he has not suffered any loss, except he is able to prove that he has suffered any loss.

Interestingly, a smart Mourinho will not join any club for the time being,as he would rather wait to receive a confirmation alert in his bank account before he can make a decision about his future, but both parties will have to meet and agree on terms to avoid issues of litigation.

PMB Refuses To Give Golden Eaglets N750,000 Each

            Photo:nairaland.com

President Muhammad Buhari has refused to give the boys the sum of N750,000 each after winning the FIFA U17 World Cup which took place in Chile this year.

It will be recalled that upon their arrival after winning the trophy, the boys were given N20,000 each and told to go home, while arrangement will be made by the Presidency to organize reception for the boys and reward them officially.

The National Sports Commission had presented a proposal to the Presidency, suggesting that the sum of N750, 000 be given to each of the player, but President Buhari has said No to it. He also informed them that the economy of Nigeria is not okay now and that next year is going to be rough, and the presidency has decided to cut cost.

The National Sports Commission has prepared another proposal, suggesting that the sum of N150, 000 be given to the boys, with hope that the hew proposal should be able to scale through.

The Seven Sins Jose Mourinho Commited That Lubricated His Sack

Photo:www.independent.co.uk

Following the sack of Jose Mourinho as the coach of Chelsea by Abramovic, Sports Intelligence X-Rays the seven reasons or mistakes which could have turned the position of "The Special One" to "The Sacked One".

(1) DISRESPECT FOR A SENIOR COLLEAGUE:
Mourinho's lack of respect for other coaches could have just been one of the mistakes, particularly     Arsene Wenger. He once described Wenger as a "Specialist In Failure" and this comment was not       necessary. He further assaulted him during their league match in what showed lack of respect for a     senior colleague. Wenger may just be one of the happiest coaches in England today upon his sack.

(2) BUILDING HIS ATTACK AROUND PLAYERS THAT WERE MORE OF RETIREE
Mourinho's first season saw the coming of Samuel Eto'o, who was arguably near retirement and         had won every title available in club football. Eto'o had nothing to win again but Mourinho                 brought him in. The second season saw the return of Drogba who retired from Chelsea                         and had nothing to win again with the club. Interestingly, Chelsea won the league title. Winning         the domestic league with Drogba probably propelled him to go and get two players(Falcao and           Pedro) that were near retirement and had lost favour in their former clubs. Pedro had won every           title available in club football and was no longer getting first team shirt in Barca, while Falcao             was practically offloaded by Van Gaal when he saw that the player was injury prone and had               little or nothing to give to football again.

(3) CONTROVERSY WITH TEAM DOCTOR
Jose Mourinho had controversy with former Chelsea team doctor Eva Carneiro. The lady seeing         that Mourinho  was becoming too bossy parked her belongings and left Chelsea an act which               caused furor among fans.Although, it was rumoured then that Eva was having an affair with               Hazard and Mourinho was not just comfortable with that.

(4) EXTENSION OF CONTRACT:
This was one fundamental mistake Jose Mourinho made, that aimed at protecting him financially       rather than giving him an escape route in times of trouble. Mourinho signed a new contract that           will keep him at Chelsea till 2019. Anyone who had studied Mourinho's antecedent will agree             with me that Mourinho is an "achieve and depart coach", who barely spends up to four years in           any league and depart. He did it with Porto,Chelsea, Intermilan and Real Madrid. Trying to stay         in England in seven consecutive years was against the standard he started with from inception.

(5) PLEADING WITH MANAGEMENT AFTER POOR PERFORMANCE
Mourinho suddenly found himself in a position where he had to meet with club owner to plead to       stay, particularly after the ninth loss in the league match against Leicester. Unfortunately, his               knowledge of his financial benefit if sacked made him set aside his principle. Club owner seeing         the direction preferred sacking and paying him off, than keeping him at Stamford Bridge.

(6) DRAGGING CHELSEA TO 16TH POSITION
This was in fact, one of the dirtiest record Jose Mourinho had set for himself and the club, after          playing sixteen matches and dragging Chelsea to the sixteenth position, with one point off the              relegation zone. Even though he had said the club will not be relegated, but the fact is the board          was also afraid of seeing Chelsea at the twentieth position after twenty matches hence, they had to      to do the needful.

(7) CONFLICT BETWEEN MOURINHO AND PLAYERS
There was conflict between Mourinho and the players, and this to a very large extent affected the       performance of the players as they were no longer putting in their best. This is the main reason           management of Chelsea gave, as conveyed by the Technical Director Mike Emenalo, who said         "Palpable discord between manager and players was affecting the club, and we can feel it as well.       This was the same set of players who won the league last season and they did it by showing some       commitment and this is lacking now. Hence, Mourinho had to go.

Mourinho's Sack Causes Couple To Fight In Lagos

Photo:www.orijoreporter.com

There was outburst in one of the streets in Lagos, when a couple simply identified as Mr and Mrs Jones started a fight from their apartment. The fight caught the attention of neighbours and passer-by.

When the couple were eventually separated, the reason for their fight shocked everyone as the wife panted and said 'He dey beat me because I dey Laugh am say dem Don Sack Mourinho'.

The build-up to the fight actually started in September, when Chelsea defeated Arsenal 2-0. The man who is an ardent fan of Chelsea mocked his wife and told her that Arsene Wenger was a Specialist in failure.

The wife who happens to be an Arsenal fan told the husband then that "Arsenal will be among the top four in Premiership when Mourinho will be sacked".

Interestingly, the man came back around five o clock when the wife started making mockery of him that Mourinho had been sacked while Wenger still remains among top four. The man tried to avoid talking on the issue but rather requested for his food.

The woman rather than complying with the man's request immediately, continued with the mockery, before the man rose and bounced on her. Her shout attracted
neighbours who came to her rescue.

A neighbour who knows the couple said he was shocked that this man can lift his hand on his wife as this man has lived peacefully with his wife in the past three years.

Breaking News: Mourinho Sacked From Chelsea

Photo:www.mirror.co.uk

Mourinho played sixteen league matches with Chelsea this season, and lost nine matches. He lost to Manchester City, West Ham, Leicester City, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth to mention a few.

The special one as he was specially called built his attack around players that were seen as pensioners, and this affected the team. Even though he managed to win the league. Guardiola Looks Ahead Of The Challenges In Manchester City

Photo:www.theguardian.com

Pep Guardiola will be leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season, his destination is most likely to be Manchester City in England.

Pep had once said in an interview that his coaching career will be incomplete without his having a stint in England. Manchester City has since asked for his services but it now seem obvious that he will soon be unveiled there.

Pep had won the domestic league in his first seasons in Spain and Germany, a feat he must be able to replicate if he eventually comes to England. He should also be able to lead Manchester City to at least the semifinal stage of the UEFA Champions League, a standard which he has kept in all his years in Spain and Germany.

However, Pep will also need to get players that will fit into his 4-3-3 and 3-4-3 style of play as that is one way of guaranteeing success. And interestingly, he will re-unite with his former foe, José Mourinho and both will continue with the head to head struggle.

Can Siasia Win The Olympic Gold In Men Football?

Photo:www.nigeriaobservernews.com

Coach Samson Siasia has qualified the U23 team to the Rio De Janeiro 2016 Olympics, where the team will carry Africa's image alongside Algeria and South Africa.

Siasia led the U23 team to the finals of the Beijing 2008 Olympics, where the team lost to Argentina in the final and by implication, won the silver. That probably gave Nigerians the believe that we can repeat what we did at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics.

The Olympic football for men is the third most recognised football tournament by FIFA, the first and second are the FIFA World Cup and the FIFA Confederation cup. Winning the title will be a boost for his CV and also add credence to Nigeria in value.

Siasia will have to work hard as he leads the team to the tournament, and ensure that nothing less than gold is won at the event, he should tighten the defence line because teams which we will play are more tough teams, with this, Africa is sure of winning the title under him.

Mikel Is Set To Leave Chelsea For China In January

                                    Photo:radiomaxxonline.com

John Mikel Obi is set to leave Chelsea for Chinese giant Beijing Guoan, if the club agrees to the conditions he has given them. Mikel's contract at Stamford Bridge will expire by 2017.

The Chinese giant has offered Mikel 104,166 euros a week, but Mikel insist on 125,000 per week and a bonus of 20,000 euros per match. Mikel insist that he will leave Stamford Bridge if he gets something better than what he gets in China, particularly as his contract keeps him at Stamford Bridge till 2017.

Mikel is expected to join the Chinese side before the expiration of his contract with Chelsea in 2017 and that seem to be the bone of contention as Mikel want to finish his contract at Stamford Bridge or get something better than what he currently gets.

Unfortunately, Mikels agent John Shittu has told goal.com that he is not aware of the deal with the Chinese giant or any other Chinese club that is interested in Mikel.

I Want To Stay In Chelsea And Face This Challenge - Mourinho Pleads

Photo:www.independent.co.uk

Chelsea manager José Mourinho has come out plainly to say that he wants to remain in Chelsea despite the current poor performance of the club.

Mourinho informed the Press that he met with Abramhovic and the board after Chelsea lost to Leicester 2-1 and since they were not willing to sack him, he is ready to stay and face the challenge with the club.

Mourinho also identified that some players had been performing below expectations and this is really affecting the team's result. Eden Hazard for example has not scored a single goal this season, while Costa has scored just three goals in sixteen appearances. And this is really bad.

Mourinho's new contract keeps him at Stamford bridge till 2019, but Chelsea is currently sixteenth position after sixteen league matches. He also stated that Chelsea is not thinking of finishing top four, but then relegation is not to be considered.

Leicester Deserve To Win- Jose Mourinho

Photo:stellañaija.com.ng

Chelsea boss José Mourinho has said that Leicester deserve to win, after they (Chelsea)lost to Leicester City by 2-1.

Mourinho said, " I studied four of their styles of play and eventually two of those pattern came on board and they scored the two goals. They were better Mourinho concluded.

Chelsea is yet to win any match in the month of December, and this is Chelsea's ninth defeat in the Premiership this season.

Nobody Can Buy My Players - Ranieri

Photo:www.dailymail.co.uk

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has said that the duo of Vardy and Mahrez are priceless and at such no club can buy them when the transfer window opens in January.

He said this after Leicester mauled Chelsea 2-1 at King Power Stadium. Vardy and Mahrez scored the first and second goal for Leicester, giving them victory in a must-win encounter. Vardy has scored fifteen goals so far, while Mahrez has scored eleven. Ranieri insist that the pair are priceless.

UCL Knockout Stage: Roma Vs Real Madrid

Photo:ronaldo7.net

This will definitely be another hurdle for Roma against another Spanish giant after they managed to squeeze their way out of the group stage where they were mauled by Barcelona 6-1.

Real Madrid will be favourite to qualify ahead of Roma but will need to be focused to enable them scale through. The presence of Ronaldo is a boost for the team, who is arguably Champions League all-time highest goal scorer. It's going to be a tough match.

UCL Knockout Stage: Juventus Vs Bayern Munich

Photo:juventusclubadelaide.com.au

Immediate finalist Juventus are to face the Bayern test in a knockout stage against an all attacking Bayern guided by Guardiola. It's really going to be a very tough one as Bayern have kept a tradition of playing in the semifinal in at least six consecutive editions.

Bayern no doubt will be favourite to go through, but that will also depend on their performance when they go to Juventus to play. Juventus will be out to surprise the world, as a 1-0 home win could qualify them if they get it and play catanaccio in their second leg at Munich. When a typical Italian side adhere strictly with Catanaccio, it could really be frustrating to Pep Guardiola who once faced the test with Barca against Inter in 2010.

Leicester Beat Chelsea 2-1 To Go Back To Top Of Table

Photo: bbc.co.ukuk

Leicester City are back to the top of the English Premier League table after beating Chelsea 2-1 at King Power Stadium.

Two goals from Vardy and Mahrez in the 34 and 48 minutes respectively put Leicester on the lead, while Remy scored a consolation goal for Chelsea in the 77 minutes.

This is Chelsea's ninth defeat this season out of the sixteen games they have played. José Mourinho has ruled out the possibility of Chelsea finishing top four and also Confessed that Leicester City deserved to win.

UCL Knockout Stage: PSG Vs Chelsea

Photo:wonderpunter.com

This match is arguably going to be one of the most defensive and tactical games in the knockout stage of this tournament, rivalry will be renewed between the two clubs at the knockout stage.

Both teams met in the quarter final stage of the 2015 Champions League, no winner emerged in the two-legged encounter but PSG scaled through on away goal advantage, after the match ended in a 2-2 draw at Stamford bridge after 120 minutes of play.

Chelsea is currently not in good shape as far their home league is concerned, and if the result of their performance at home is anything to go by, then PSG will have the day. But then, anything can happen and Chelsea's meeting with PSG at this point is a good way to test Mourinho's claim of winning the Champions League with this squad.

UCL Knockout Stage: Barcelona Vs Arsenal

Photo:youaremyarsenal.com

This match will be one of the biggest matches of the 2016 edition of the UEFA Champions League, as both teams meet again to settle scores.

Barcelona have denied Arsenal Champions League success on several occasions with the worst being in the 2006 final when they defeated Arsenal 2-1 to win the title.

Both teams play the same kind of game, but Barca have always scaled through in all meetings. Arsenal will need some magic to scale through, particularly now that Barca have a combination of Messi, Neymar and Suarez upfront. Arsenal may win in one of the matches, but Barca more likely to scale through.

Playing At The Olympic As African Champions

Photo:iheanyiigboko.wordpress.com

The dream team have won the CAF U23 African Cup of nations. This means they have not just qualified for the Olympics, but will be playing at the Olympics as African Champions.

The task ahead is challenging particularly when countries that are not considered as football nations are now trying to live up to expectations. A country like USA for example started preparing their 2016 Olympic team since 2012, and will tend to surprise everyone at the Olympics. Not only in Basket Ball but also in soccer.

Coach Samson Siasia has gotten the Olympics experience, he finished runners up with the team at the Beijing 2008 Olympics and now he will be leading the team to the 2016 Olympic. Nigeria did not qualify for the 2012 edition, the main reason we have to take this edition serious.

As Champions of Africa, we will be expected to win matches even as underdogs, our greatest threats are South America countries, and Siasia must be prepared to employ tactical acumen and ensure that we beat them. In the Atlanta 1996 edition when we won the Olympics, Nigeria Beat Brazil in the semifinal to set up a place with Argentina in the final, which we eventually won. Hence, tactical alertness is very key.

I wish the dream team the best, but they must be willing to get the best and put a smile on the faces of Nigerians, who have already looked up to winning an Olympic gold in football for the second time.
