Count Down To Rio 2016 Olympics


(Left) Maracana Stadium which will be the venue for the opening and closing ceremony of the Rio 2016 Olympics. It has a capacity of 78,838 seats. It is an Olympic size stadium
(Right) Maracanazinho Gymnasium, is an indoor game site, and precisely the venue for the Volleyball events of the Rio Olympics.

(Left) The Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon is the site for Rowing and Canoeing.The outbreak of the Zika Virus early this year posed a threat, but the LOC had put the Lagoon under proper inspection, ensuring its safety for visitors.
 
 (Right) The Bus Rapid Transit in Rio de Janeiro Airport, links the airport with the Olympic area.
In case if you do not know, the largest statue of Jesus Christ in the world is also found in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. It is Called the Christ the Redeemer Statue, it is 3o metres high (98 ft) and 38 metres high (125 ft) with its pedal it was completed and dedicated on October 12, 1931 and consecrated on October 12, 2006. On July 7, 2007 it was declared as The New Seven Wonders of The World. The statue is made of Soapstone and in the night it produces light of its own.
