Oliseh, NFF Clash Over Choice Of Stadium For Afcon 2017 QualifierMatch Against Egypt

As part of preparations for the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier between Nigeria and Egypt. The Nigeria Football Federation has concluded plans to proceed on inspection of facilities and equipment on Thursday at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna.

The Super Eagles will host the Pharaohs of Egypt on March 23 before heading to Cairo for the second-leg five days later.

However, Sunday Oliseh has stated that the Stadium at Port Harcourt is preferable due to the ease of access for players through the international airport, but NFF has concluded on the choice of Kaduna.

It will be recalled that the decision to play in Kaduna generated heated argument and controversy last year, when former super eagles captain and goal keeper Vincent Enyeama criticized the city due to security fears.

Nigeria are currently second in Group G Table in the Afcon 2017 qualifier trailing Egypt, with four points from two matches. They beat Chad 2-0 in Kaduna in June 2015 and drew Tanzania 0-0 in Dar es Salaam in September, while Egypt have six points.

NFF has disclosed that they are in strong partnership with officials of the Kaduna state government to ensure that adequate plans are put on ground for medicals and security for the match.
