NFF Is Not In Line With The Provisions Of The FOI Act

The Nigeria Football Federation have failed to comply with the provisions of the Freedom Of Information Act which was signed into law in 2011.

This was observed after the coach of the Super Eagles Sunday Oliseh informed the media that he is being owed salary in arrears.

Oliseh was said to have received upfront payment, but with the recent development, it seem not to be true.

The FOI Act allows for the public to be informed about the income and expenditure of any government parastatal or agency, but since the culture of secrecy still trends in our style of administration, it has become very difficult for compliance to be effective.

Nigeria Football Federation is supposed to have notified the public how much it has gotten as subvention and a detailed budget of how national team coaches would be paid.
