Leicester City Humble Manchester City At Etihad Stadium To Maintain Top Position

Leicester City outplayed and defeated Manchester City at Etihad Stadium to move six points clear off Manchester City. The match which ended 1-3 in favour of the foxes showed determination on their part to win the Premier League title.

The visitors mounted pressure on their host, making Manchester City goalkeeper Hart, the busiest player on the pitch. Robert Huth scored a brace for Ranieri's men while Riyad Mahrez scored the third, before Aguero scored a late minute goal for Manchester City  which had little or no effect in the match.

The celebration mood which the announcement of Pep Guardiola as new manager of Manchester City gave the club, was immediately buried by this defeat and the mood in Etihad turned sober.

Pellegrini had before the match likened Leicester as Villareal who eventually came second while he was in charge in La Liga, but got a shock in the match, as Manchester City now trail Leicester with six points

Manuel Pellegrini expected that news of his departure at end of season will boost the team to winning ways if made public, but the reverse was the case as it had a negative effect on the team.
