Coach Samson Siasia has qualified the U23 team to the Rio De Janeiro 2016 Olympics, where the team will carry Africa's image alongside Algeria and South Africa.
Siasia led the U23 team to the finals of the Beijing 2008 Olympics, where the team lost to Argentina in the final and by implication, won the silver. That probably gave Nigerians the believe that we can repeat what we did at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics.
The Olympic football for men is the third most recognised football tournament by FIFA, the first and second are the FIFA World Cup and the FIFA Confederation cup. Winning the title will be a boost for his CV and also add credence to Nigeria in value.
Siasia will have to work hard as he leads the team to the tournament, and ensure that nothing less than gold is won at the event, he should tighten the defence line because teams which we will play are more tough teams, with this, Africa is sure of winning the title under him.
