Japan Women Team Fail To Qualify For Rio Olympics Despite 1-6 Victory Over Vietnam

Former world champions, Japan's women soccer team have failed to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics, despite thrashing Vietnam by 1-6 today.
China and Australia booked the two available spots in the Asian qualifiers for the tournament.
China played significant role in Japan's elimination by beating South Korea 1-0, which meant Japan who currently have four points cannot meet up with China with 10 points or Australia with 12 points with one match left for them against North Korea.
Japan won the 2011 women's world cup, finished runners-up at the 2012 Summer Games and lost to the United States of America in the final of the 2015 women world cup.
