Sevilla are in top form and has moved back into contention
for Champions League football and they'll look to continue their winning
ways at Rayo Vallecano this Sunday afternoon.
Sevilla's current form has seen them steadily move into contention for
an assault on the UEFA Champions League qualifying berths and though
they trail fourth placed Villarreal by eight points, will be confident
that they can make up that ground in the remaining 14 games of the
campaign and starting here with Rayo.
Sevilla are unbeaten in their last six Spanish league top flight ahead of this
one, which includes a 2-0 win at home to Las Palmas last weekend,
whilst they've also booked their place in the 2016 Copa del Rey final
thanks to 6-2 aggregate win over Celta de Vigo in the last four. They'll
face Catalan giants FC Barcelona in the May showpiece.
Los
Rojiblancos are also going strong in the Europa League and all but
booked their place in the last 16 with a 3-0 win at home to Norway's
Molde on Thursday night.
A Fernando Llorente
double and strike from Kevin Gameiro gave the holders a commanding
lead. Llorente had gone 11 games without a goal before Thursday's
encounter and his confidence has returned at a most inopportune time for
the hosts.
Sevilla boss Unai Emery is excited at the prospect of a Europa League hat-trick, which is now very much close at hand..
