Both teams have tasted the European champions glory, with Bayern having more silverware in respect to that. The last time Benfica played in the semifinal of the Champions League was in 1990, they progressed to the final and lost to Milan by 1-0.
On the other hand, Bayern have been very consistent with the semifinal, with the most recent being the last edition where they lost to eventual winners Barcelona.Benfica is yet to taste the venom of a vibrant attacking side and the match against Bayern will actually determine that.
However, Bayern have a higher chance of moving to the semifinal ahead of Benfica, with Lewandowski, Robben and Muller. They can do some damages. Pep's joker Thiago Alcantara is also a man to reckon with.
